Job Description

The Senior Director of Medical Affairs will lead interactions between the Adult Endocrinology medical communities regarding clients products in the adult endocrinology field. With VP of Medical Affairs the Sr. Director will develop advisory boards of physicians/nurses and will work with key opinion leaders to facilitate publication and presentation of studies data and educational programs. The Sr. Dir of Med Affairs will also serve as the Medical Monitor for Phase IV studies. 140 people in firm. Niche not big pharma experience works well.

• MD (Adult Endocrinology exp preferred) with pharmaceutical industry experience or,
• PhD or PharmD with 8-10 years experience in pharmaceutical industry (endocrinology exp required);
• Previous management/leadership experience.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Management and organizational skills.
• Written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of PC and software programs including Word and Power Point.
• Ability to communicate effectively with scientific professionals.
• Ability to interact with all levels in the organization; tactful, mature, judgement, flexible.
• Foster collaborative relationships with current and future thought leaders in endocrine care.
• Manage budgets for clinical grants and medical education.
• Develop the medical component of Sales Training.
• Medical interpretation of clinical safety data for existing products.
• Medical review for all existing related scientific abstracts and corporate publications.
• Giving grand rounds and scientific presentations at selected institutions. Key opinion leader visitation.
• Assist the marketing team in evaluating markets, suitable strategies for penetrating markets etc.
• Medical review of regulatory submissions; authoring clinical portion of regulatory documents as needed.
* Hire talented staff and manage effective performance by providing feedback coaching and development opportunities.
