A fixed term vacancy has arisen for our client within this growing service.

In Anaesthesia, you will be working as part of a skilled and dedicated multidisciplinary team of 12 specialist anaesthetists and provide general anaesthesia services, intensive care, day to day clinical management, acute pain and trauma services.

In Intensive Care you will work as a group of specialists covering ICU. Twelve registrars cover both disciplines.

Participation in an on-call roster is required. There will also be a commitment on a shared roster basis for anaesthetic services to the regional hospitals within the region.

The Hospital has a modern block of six theatres providing anaesthesia services to the people of the region, accepting referrals from four regional hospitals.

It also has a modern seven bed Level 2 Intensive Care Unit providing comprehensive Intensive Care Services including CRRT.
The Hospital is the regional hospital providing secondary care services to the northern most part of New Zealand.

The region covers an area of 12,600 square kilometres with a population of approximately 140,000. It boasts some of the most scenic and exciting coastal areas of New Zealand in a subtropical climate. Popular water recreation areas include the Bay Of Islands and Poor Knight Islands Reserves.
