Job Description
VAMC is in need of a qualified CRNA to supplement current VA staff. Contractor shall provide all liability insurance, services, lodging, transportation, communications and associated expenses, i.e., meals for the contract period. Surgical procedures and services include, but are not limited, to general surgery, urology, orthopedic, ENT, neurosurgery, ophthalmology and selected vascular procedures. Requirement is for 2.0 FTE.
2. The services to be performed by the Contractor shall be under the general direction of the Chief of Anesthesia Service. The Chief of Anesthesia Service is responsible for monitoring contract compliance and for verifying that services called for under the contract attested to by the Contractor have been received.
3. The Chief of Anesthesia Service shall monitor performance through direct observation as well as observation of work results on an ongoing daily basis.
4. Contractor or Contractor’s employee may be exposed to surroundings which involve moderate risks or discomfort which require special precautions, i.e., infectious diseases, verbal and physical abuse from the emotionally disturbed patient.
5. Contractor or Contractor’s employee may have personal contact with patients, family, visitors and other employees, including contract employees of various VA services.
6. Contact with patients is for the purpose of procedure performance and information sharing as it relates to the procedures and special requirements. Contact with physicians and other ancillary services personnel are required for information sharing and consultation. Contact with visitors and family members, is required for information sharing as it relates to a particular patient.
7. Ages of patients served may vary greatly and include young (20s and 30s years of age); middle-aged (40s and 50s years of age); and older patients (60 and upwards).
8. Dress apparel: Contractor personnel shall be required to dress in a professional ma
