Job Description

Hospital is seeking a Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join their medical staff at Down East Community Hospital located in the coastal community of Machias, Maine. This position qualifies for J-1, O-1 & H-1B visa physicians.

The Cardiologist will join an active medical staff of nearly 30 physicians and serve as the Director of Diagnostic Cardiology Services.

The Cardiologist will be offered an employment contract with a generous base salary plus production bonuses and numerous benefits including a hospital-funded pension plan, health insurance, disability insurance, 4 weeks paid vacation, 1 week paid time off for CME purposes, paid relocation and more.

Down East community Hospital is a 25-bed acute care facility serving an area population of 14,000 people for most primary care services and 30,000 people for medical and surgical sub-specialty services. The Hospital also provides care for residents in a 28-bed nursing home and a 30-bed Maine Veterans Home.

The town of Machias is located right on the coast in Washington County and is 90 miles east of a major metropolitan city (Bangor) and 70 miles south of St. Steven, Canada. This area features a broad range of affordable waterfront homes and properties with spacious acreage. Residents of the area enjoy a range of educational opportunities including the prestigious Washington Academy, originally the prep school for Colby and Bates Colleges. In addition, the area is home to three colleges including the University of Maine in Machias, WCTC Marine Technology center and the Washington county Technical College.
