Facility is a five year old community hospital with a well-equipped, efficiently run ED. Enjoy hometown living with easy access to the activities and excitement of historic San Antonio, or live in the big city with an easy 30 minute interstate commute to the hospital.

This position is ideal for either an EM trained physician or a primary care physician with a strong Emergency Medicine background (at least two years). This position offers excellent back-up and an earning potential as high as $200K on an independent contractor basis. The ED contract holder provides malpractice coverage with no deduction from the hourly rate. Physician requirements are DEA, DPS, Texas License, current ACLS, ATLS, PALS with significant experience (2+ yrs) in emergency medicine.

Medical Center is a 66 bed acute care hospital with an ICU and Labor and Delivery department. All pregnancy complications 20 weeks and over and all deliveries go directly to the L&D Department bypassing the ER.

* Compensation at $120 per hour for EM boarded physicians; $100 otherwise
* Looking for Full-Time (at least eight 24-hr shifts or equivalent) and Part-Time physicians (6-8 12-hr shifts or equivalent)
* This Emergency Department is commuting distance from San Antonio.
* State of the Art Electronic Medical Record System for documentation and prescriptions
* Workstations at all bedsides, nurse / physician work areas and a wireless tablet PC
* 11 bed ED with 3 trauma beds and 9 cardiac monitored beds
* Experienced Nursing Staff
* 16,000 annual visits
* No on call; strong subspecialty backup
* One call transfers to Level 1 Trauma Center with helicopter transport 15 minutes away
* Independent Contractor status
* Stable Physician owned group with 7 year contract tenure with hospital
