Job Description

A board certified/eligible Emergency Medicine physician is needed to join five physicians in the Emergency Medical & Trauma Center (Level III) Residency training in Emergency Medicine is preferred, but physicians with primary care training and board certification/eligibility, with appropriate EMTC experience, will be considered. Our Emergency Medicine physicians work 12-hour shifts. The practice will include 11-12 shifts per month. The current EM practice includes about 15,000 visits per year to the EMTC, representing a typical mix of medical and trauma patients, with a 30% admission rate. The Urgent Care Department is located in the Clinic, adjacent to the EMTC, allowing for easy patient access to either service. Consultation with medical and surgical specialists is readily available. In 2008, the EM staff will move into a new integrated, state-of-the-art EMTC/Urgent Care facility located in the Center for Advanced Medicine & Surgery (CAMS building), which was completed in July 2004. Currently, this facility houses new OR suites, Day Surgery Unit and a comprehensive Cancer Center.
