Job Description
Client needs a BC/BE Gastroenterologist to join the team. The physician will have an average of 8-9 procedures per day (4-5 procedures in the AM and then 3-4 procedures in the PM) and some inpatient visits. The physician would solely be doing outpatient procedures (primarily colonoscopies and upper endoscopies). There is no clinic assigned to them because the client has a consulting Gastroenterologist physician that covers this area. Admissions are generally handled by the hospitalist. No rounds on Saturday or Sunday. The only time a patient is admitted is if there is a complication and then the hospitalist assumes their care.
The Physician will be assigned to Inpatient Services as part of the Operative Care department from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. five days per week, Monday through Friday. The Physician will have responsibility for but not limited to ordering diagnostic tests as indicated, prescribe medications, perform Gastroenterology endoscopy procedures to include, but not limited to: upper endoscopy with or without dilation, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopies with and without biopsy and PEG procedures. ERCP desirable, but not required. The gastroenterologist must be able to utilize Pentax instrumentation and ERB APC.
Compensation. Base salary is depending on experience; pay for performance bonus; malpractice paid for; 10 Holidays with additional 26 days PTO (5+ weeks!); health insurance coverage for self and family, portable when retirement eligible! CME tuition support and relocation package.
