General Surgeon – We are looking for a general surgeon, no specialty training. Just out of residency or no more than two years out is preferred. Competitive financial package with first year income guarantee contract with sign-on bonus and relocation. Opportunity is to join an established practice. Group health plan, vacation and CME time.

Medical Center is a 281-bed, acute care facility in Gadsden, located in beautiful Northeast Alabama. We are a state-of-the-art Healthcare facility, fully JCAHO accredited, with approximately 200 physicians on our Medical Staff. Our main service area is 350,000, serving Etowah County and six contiguous counties. Our hospital features a stand-alone Heart & Vascular Center that houses 2 fully digital cath labs, a pacemaker/defib lab, overnight beds for interventional procedures and a same-day cath area. The Heart & Vascular Center also houses our Philips Brilliance 64-Slice CT scanner. We have a newly renovated Emergency Department with 16 beds and Nurse First Triage. We have the only Heartburn Treatment Center in Northeast Alabama that offers Bravo, a catheter-free system for testing reflux and we have a Sleep Lab that features state-of-the-art equipment. Hospital was ranked the #1 Hospital in 2005 by a well-known, independent hospital ranking company. In 2006 was designated a recipient of the Level 2 – Progress Toward Excellence Quality Award by the University of Alabama Productivity Center.
