Looking for a Board Certified General Surgeon with skills in bread and butter general surgery, cancer surgery, advanced laparoscopy, Endoscopy/colonoscopy, and/or vascular surgery that wants to work in a bedroom community of Indianapolis. The hospital will accept an M.D. or a D.O. as well as a graduating resident. The ideal candidate will have ties to the mid-west, embrace a quality oriented philosophy, be highly productive and have an excellent bedside manner. The practice environment in Indiana is very physician friendly with little HMO penetration and some of the most favorable malpractice insurance rates in the country. In its Employment Model, MHMC offers a competitive compensation package, generous benefits, and a bonus structure to reward high performance. Call and office space will be shared with the other general/thoracic surgeon in the community. The current practice site is established in the medical office building across the parking lot from the hospital. The surgery suite is large, able to accommodate two full time physicians, and is equipped with an office surgery room for “lumps and bumps”. Position replaces current general surgeon who is relocating out of state due to family demands. There is a growing population, currently about 12,000, service area over 75,000.
