The Hospital is a specialised 600 bed base hospital with all diagnostic and treatment facilities on one campus and a staff of approx 2,500. Specialist services include - Cardiac Surgery, Cardiology, Otolaryngology, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Haematology, Maxillofacial, Medicine, Obstetrics, Oncology, Opthalmology, Orthopaedics, Paediatric Surgery, Paediatrics, Neonatal Intensive Care, Plastic Surgery, Renal, Respiratory, Dermatology, Intensive Care, Urology, Radiology And Vascular Surgery. The successful applicant will be responsible for history taking, performing physical examinations and formulating a management plan in consultation with the registrar and/or consultant, and ensure that theatre schedules and conference cases are communicated to the correct people in a timely way. They will implement treatment of assigned patients, including ordering investigations and monitoring results under supervision of registrar. They should have proven experience working in a Surgical position, be able to provide quality care as efficiently as possible, and be able to obtain registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
