315-bed hospital with a 100+ year legacy of healthcare in central LA, providing care within the community and a service area population of 450,000.
Rapides Regional Medical Center has served as the referral center of the first integrated healthcare delivery system in central LA since 1994, when the Rapides Healthcare System was established.
Rapides Regional offers a wide array of services including general medicine, general surgery, cardiovascular surgery, bypass surgery, cardiac rehabilitation, neurology, neurosurgery, intensive care and telemetry, oncology services, senior behavioral health services, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopedic services, physical therapy, skilled nursing services, respiratory therapy, lithotripsy and various outpatient services. The medical staff includes physicians in more than 30 medical specialties.
The Intensivist / Hospitalist Team provides on-site service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Day shifts are generally 7 am – 7 pm, night shifts from 7 pm-7 am. The schedule consists of four to seven days on and four to seven days off. Each full time intensivist / hospitalist will work 192 hours of clinical/professional medical services per month, consisting of approximately 12 hour shifts.
The Team will provide service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, ICU procedures, unassigned ED call and patient admission/discharge.
The Program is an integral component for the delivery of inpatient healthcare at the Hospital.

Alexandria/Pineville, with a population numbering 64,000, serves as the parish (county) seat for Rapides Parish, which has a total population of 135,250.
