EXCELLENT INTERNAL MEDICINE POSITION - INDIANAPOLIS SUBURBS!!
A board certified or board eligible internal medicine specialist is needed for the hospital's owned and operated practice. The practice currently consists of five physicians. Three internists, a pulmonologist/critical care specialist and an endocrinologist. One of the internists also has specialty training in gastroenterology.
Call schedule and patient care responsibilities:
The physician selected will participate in the general internal medicine call schedule for both the Emergency Room and unassigned inpatients. Three other internists on the medical staff also participate in the call schedule. It is expected that the call rotation will require the physician to be assigned one out of every 4 weekdays. The weekend call rotation involves four other internists (including the three mentioned previously) to allow for a one in 5 weekend call commitment. The hospital also has a House Physician Program that covers inpatient needs from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. This relieves the physicians of call duty during this time period. There will be some days each month in which the House Physician Program does not provide coverage.
Office Hours:
The physician will be expected to have office hours a minimum of four days per week at 20-25 hours. The remainder of their time will be devoted to inpatient rounds and call responsibilities.
Compensation and benefits:
The compensation range for the position is $120,000 to $160,000 per year depending on experience. Benefits will include the full range of benefits offered to all hospital employees and these include health, dental and vision insurance, retirement, 23 days of paid time off per year and other benefits. Also offered and subject to negotiation is a sign-on bonus and relocation reimbursement.
