General Physician required in Australia

General Physicians (all subspecialty interests considered) who are considering a sea change, Read on!

Portland District Health is located in West Victoria . Based in a picturesque town surrounded by three large bays and has kilometres of beaches, suitable for fishing, swimming and surfing.

The General Physician duties include:

-Outpatients sessions
-Consults to A&E
-Inpatient services (total of 69 inpatient beds are available in the hospital with 2 HDU beds)
-Potential medical student teaching
-Management duties
-Private practice opportunity available with potential for VMO appointment of 0.5 FTE public and 0.5 FTE private practice

Essential Requirements:

1.Medical Degree eligible for registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Victoria
2.FRACP or equivalent (MRCP with CCST, FRCP, Board Certification in Internal Medicine or equivalent)

Preferred (Non Essential):

1.Preferably four years post fellowship experience (Applicants with less than four years experience are encouraged to apply as all applicants will be considered)
2.Interest in teaching (Prospective rural clinical school)
3.All subspecialty interests will be considered however preference for Geriatrics/ Rehab. Medicine/ Endocrinology /Respiratory Medicine/ Rheumatology

A very generous salary package (over $250,000) is on offer in a public role. Substantially higher remuneration is available to Physicians interested in taking over an established private practice of a retiring physician. Successful applicant will receive a package including:

1.Base salary plus on call and out of hours payments

This appointment will be for a period of two years in the first instance, with a view to extend.
