Job Description
Facility in Northern Maine is recruiting for a Internal Medicine Physician. 9 Internists (including 3 Hospitalists) and 3 Family Practitioners on staff. Obstetrical services one day per week. Hospitalists provide inpatient coverage, including weekends. Prefer a provider who will see children as a significant portion of the practice. Access to outpatient clinics including Cardiology, Pulmonary, Hematology/Oncology, Endocrinology, Neurosurgical, Ear, Nose and Throat, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Nephrology, Pediatric Gastroenterology, and Podiatry, and Rheumatology, along with diabetes counseling and nutritional therapy. Telephone triage system to screen after-hours calls.
Expectations – grow the practice as families move into the area to support the growth of local industry.
Full-time: 5 days per week (option #1); 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (option #2); Saturday morning hours may be considered in the future.
Patients: Patient profile is across the lifespan, including a large cohort of elderly patients with co-morbidities.
Call: Rotation – 4 days per month, occasional back up required on weekends.
Qualifications of applicants:
Board Certified or board eligible.
Allopathic and osteopathic physicians will be considered equally.
American born and trained physicians and foreign-born physicians who have completed a US residency and/or fellowship will be considered equally. H-1B and J-1 visa candidates will be considered.
In-practice physicians, residents or fellows, and military-trained physicians will be considered equally.
