Job Description

· Replace retired physician & growth:
General Internist
IM w/Diabetes interest
Endocrinologist w/Diabetes interest
· One of two internal medicine clinics owned by hospital; purchased in 2001 through the combination of 2 separate practices.
· One of 3 IM practices in town.
· Starting salary @$140,000 guaranteed the first year & sign-on for new grads
· Cover call in one hospital
· Production-based salary available before end of first year if production income exceeds guaranteed
· High producers earn $220K+ annually; average $175,000

· Daily clinic patient volume expectation - 20
· Stand alone office building constructed 2001 – only IM clinic near growing residential area – 4 miles from hospital
· Characterization:
o Payer mix 65% Medicare
o Patients are typically elderly with multiple chronic conditions
o Full lab & Radiology services
o ‘Democratic-Republic’ – consensus decision making process
o Age range of docs: 30 - 55
o Located in the center of largest middle class neighborhoods in town
