Med/Ped opportunity in a Southern Illinois Community

Pinckneyville Community Hospital located in Pinckneyville, Illinois has an opportunity available for an IM/Ped physician.

Pinckneyville is located approximately 30 miles north of Carbondale, Illinois and is an hour and fifteen minutes away from St. Louis, Missouri. Within 4 hours, you can reach Memphis, Nashville, Louisville and Indianapolis. Chicago is 5 ½ hours away and can be reached via train to Union Station.

The opportunity is an office/hospital practice with a hospital-based rural health clinic and offers an employed situation with benefits to a prospective physician. The call coverage would be one in five with an afternoon off each week and a requirement to work every 4th Saturday from nine until noon to handle walk-in patients in the clinic.


The position offers a competitive salary with productivity incentives. Benefits include three week’s vacation, one week’s paid CME with an allowance to cover the cost of the CME programs. Malpractice insurance, health insurance, long term disability insurance and a base level life insurance are also included with no out of pocket cost to the physician. Once eligible for the hospital’s 403(b) plan, the hospital matches a 2% contribution with 3 1/2 % to the limit allowed by law. A sign-on bonus of $15,000 is available as is a relocation allowance.
