Job Description

28707 - Neonatologist job opportunity in this large coastal California town for coverage up to two weeks per month in this busy labor and delivery unit. This hospital anticipates sporadic coverage needs, possibly ongoing, to assist the unit while they are in transition. The neonatologist will manage 3-4 low acuity infants, round on the well baby nursery, attend high-risk deliveries, and consult with patients' families. This facility averages 250-300 deliveries per month with about 2-3 high-risk deliveries per day. All high-risk infants requiring the NICU will be transferred to a local hospital, but the physician is not involved with the transports. The doctor will typically work six hours a day and be available for beeper call at night.
