Job Description

This is a very unique practice. Most of deliveries are Amish and are done at a freestanding birthing center. Those that can't be done at the birthing center are done at the hospital. We also have two FP's, a nurse midwife and another OB/GYN on staff. They each deliver their own babies by choice. The two OB/GYN's do cover for each other for vacations, etc.

We have a newly renovated OB Department that was designed with the family in mind. 5 LDRP's, 2 Antepartum rooms, C-Section suite. We do waterbirths. The rooms are designed so that once the delivery is complete, the birthing bed is moved out of the room and a queen sized Murphy bed is pulled out of the wall so that the family doesn't have to wait until they get home to be a family. C-Section rate - 25%; Epidural rate - 26%.

The going rate for OB's is about $225,000 - $250,000. Arrangement can be employment or contract. Terms are negotiable.

This candidate needs to be someone who is interested in and can establish a working relationship with the Amish.

In 2006, through September the doctor has delivered 86 babies (total) and she provides oversite for the midwife who has delivered 32 babies YTD.
