Job Description
The Oncology NP or PA for Dallas/Plano Texas The Oncology Advanced Practice Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide expert and complex clinical nursing care. In collaboration with the medical and nursing staff, the advanced practice nurse monitors the clinical care of patients and uses advanced knowledge to develop evidence based guidelines for improving patient outcomes. Provides ongoing monitoring to ensure new initiatives and practice guidelines are implemented and hard wired. Serves as a role model, patient advocate, change agent, leader and cost-effective practitioner. Salary is competitive. Relocation assistant available.
Masters Degree in Nursing or related area required. National specialty certification preferred (OCN). Current BCLS and ACLS certifications required. Must have at least 5 years of clinical nursing experience in Oncology or a related area. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast paced environment. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds.
