Job Description

The California Department of Corrections Rehabilitation (CDCR) has 33 state prisons that provide mental health services to thousands of inmates. The CDCR is unable to employ all of the Psychiatrist necessary to meet this need and therefore utilizes contract services. We provide on their behalf.

The work day is generally 7 to 3 with little or no call. The surroundings are quite safe and very professional. The hourly rate is $175 per hour. Working 40 hrs a week 50 weeks a yr will give $350k a yr! The psychiatrist is paid every week on Thursday by check and mail or direct deposit.
Employee with hiring packages starting at $221,000 per year to $259,000 with full benefits including 14 Paid Holidays!

Locums available but only if a minimum of 3 months.

Candidate must have an empathetic understanding of patients in the State correctional facility. The willingness to work in a State correctional facility, professional integrity, emotional stability, patience, alertness, tact and keen observational skills are needed attributes.
All candidates must be boarded in psychiatry and licensed in the state of California. The candidate’s license must be in good standing without prior issues such as suspension or probation.
