The Department of Psychiatric Medicine at BSOM at ECU is accepting applications for a full-time position to serve as Medical Director for inpatient service at Pitt County Memorial Hospital. This 52 bed service houses acute beds, combined MI-DD beds and combined Med-Psych beds in an 861 bed tertiary care hospital serving Eastern and coastal NC. In addition to administrative responsibilities, the successful candidate will also provide direct clinical care, assist in the teaching and clinical supervision of medical students, residents, and other health professional trainees; collaborate with other faculty members in conducting clinical research, with the opportunity to initiate projects if desired; and function as a University faculty member, performing such duties as appropriate to academic rank and position.

Requirements include MD or equivalent degree, completion of accredited psychiatric residency training, prefer certification in Psychiatry, BE/BC in Psychiatry, and 5 years of experience. Salary and academic rank commensurate with experience and academic background.
