Our client is seeking to appoint a second Consultant Urologist to join their team as they respond to the growing need for urological services amongst the Southland Community.

The Hospital is a fantastic new facility with an excellent layout and a pleasant working environment. The hospital is the ideal size in that you see a wide variety of cases and have access to an impressive range of diagnostics, yet it is small enough that you can still get to know the staff.

Servicing a population of 107,000, the Urology department sees a broad spectrum case mix, but the workload is manageable and organised, allowing more opportunity to practice your clinical expertise thoroughly and without the stress.

The region offers superb opportunities for a lifestyle change with skiing, tramping (hiking), fishing, hunting, and stunning natural, unspoilt scenery right on your doorstep. The Hospital is a teaching hospital supported by the School of Medicine. The Surgical department teaches at all levels including 4th Year Medical Students, final year students, House Officers and Registrars.

There is also every opportunity for private work in the region and the private hospital in in the city offers modern facilities for routine elective work.

Applicants must have completed their specialist training and be eligible for vocational registration with Medical Council of New Zealand. The position offers an attractive remuneration package, relocation assistance and CME allowance.
