Richard L. Jackson
Chief Executive Officer
With more than 30 years of healthcare staffing experience, Richard L. Jackson is
an industry pioneer. Beginning in 1978 with the founding of Jackson & Coker
(J&C), he has demonstrated a unique ability to predict healthcare industry
trends, identify under-served niches and create leading companies that improve
the quality and accessibility of healthcare.
In 1995 Mr. Jackson and several former J&C associates brought together their
more than 100 years of combined physician recruiting experience to form what
was then known as Quest Staffing Solutions. Beginning with psychiatry, the
Quest team focused on building knowledge and contacts in a handful of
high-demand specialties rather than trying to be 'all things to all
clients.'
Foreseeing the "dot.com boom" and its potentially dramatic effect on physician
recruiting,
Mr. Jackson and his partners in 1999 introduced the only free, online,
all-specialty physician job board offering a broad range of opportunities-both
temporary and permanent. They changed their physician recruiting firm's
name to
"LocumTenens.com" to better link the niche agency with both its
industry
category and its all-specialty physician job board. This counter-intuitive
decision made LocumTenens.com one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing
companies in the United States within five years.
Currently Mr. Jackson also is chief executive officer of Jackson Healthcare
(JH), parent firm of Jackson Healthcare Staffing, which ranked ninth
on Staffing Industry Analysts' list of "Top U.S. Healthcare
Staffing
Providers," May 31, 2007.
In both 2006 and 2007 Mr. Jackson was a southeast regional finalist for Ernst
and
Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award. JH was named to the Inc. 500 list
of
the fastest-growing private U.S. companies in 2004-and to the Inc. 5000 in 2007
as one of the top 100 health care companies. In 2005 and 2007 Atlanta Business
Chronicle named Jackson Healthcare to its annual list of
"Atlanta's Best Employers" based on an independent employee
survey.
An expert in health care trends, Mr. Jackson has been quoted in more than 100
healthcare and business publications including the Wall Street Journal,
Modern
Healthcare, Health Business, Hospitals & Health Networks,
Physician Financial News, Health Management Technology, Atlanta
Business Chronicle and Smart Business Atlanta.
R. Shane Jackson President and Chief Operating Officer
Before taking the helm of LocumTenens.com in July 2008, Mr. Jackson served as
executive vice president of Jackson Healthcare. Until mid-2006 he also served
as president of Patient Placement Systems, a healthcare technology company
providing an automated solution for the referring and placing of patients that
require care after leaving the hospital.
In 2000, Mr. Jackson co-founded and acted as the president of NextStart
Capital, providing financial advisory and M&A services. At NextStart
Capital,
he oversaw and directed numerous fund-raising and acquisition transactions. In
2005 he served as financial advisor to the seller in the largest healthcare
staffing transaction in history. In 2007 Mr. Jackson oversaw start-up of
Jackson Healthcare's healthcare job boards division.
Prior to beginning NextStart Capital, Mr. Jackson launched successful
businesses in the IT, healthcare, music and restaurant industries, and has
consulted with businesses throughout the Southeast, developing Internet
strategy and business plans, conducting viability studies and raising venture
capital.
Mr. Jackson earned an M.B.A., with honors, from Emory University where he was
one of a distinguished group of students selected for the institution's
accelerated three-semester degree program. He holds a B.B.A from Harding
University.
Michael A. Davis
Executive Vice President and Co-Founder
An original partner of LocumTenens.com, Mr. Davis has more
than 20 years of experience in the physician recruitment industry.
He helped found Jackson & Coker's locum tenens division and,
later, LocumTenens.com. His expertise includes marketing services to healthcare
facilities and
national accounts, as well as recruiting physicians for both locum tenens
and permanent placement
positions. He also has a keenness for streamlining the
sales process to solve client and provider needs quickly and accurately
without compromising quality. Mr. Davis leads the Psychiatry division of
LocumTenens.com.
Lisa Kaeck
Senior Vice President
An original partner of LocumTenens.com, Ms. Kaeck brings more than 20 years of
sales and marketing experience to the company. She has worked in the medical
recruiting industry for 17 years. She is involved in the day-to-day running of
business operations and is also directly involved in the development and
implementation of company objectives, policies and procedures as well as
strategic planning for the organization. Ms. Kaeck also spends her time
managing, training and supporting LocumTenens.com's Anesthesia division. She
advocates a "family oriented" culture among associates and enjoys helping
producers succeed.
Katie Thill
Senior Vice President
The first employee hired by the start-up that became LocumTenens.com, Ms. Thill
left a volunteer coordinator position at a large, nondenominational
congregation to join the agency in 1996. She became a partner in 1998. Since
those early years she has been instrumental in the firm's growth and success,
facilitating its growth into new specialty markets and adding structure and
accountability to newly formed teams. After taking over LocumTenens.com's
radiology team as its vice president in 2002, Ms. Thill has taken the team from
a negative position to producing roughly 20 percent of the firm's revenue
annually. She is a native of Mobile, Alabama.
Janet Butcher
Vice President, Administration
Ms. Butcher brings two decades of
organizational development experience to LocumTenens.com. Her career began in
the physician recruitment industry with Jackson & Coker, where she spent 16
years. Ms. Butcher spent two years as Director
of Credentialing at Charter Behavioral Health System where she was
responsible for restructuring and organizing a centralized credentialing system
for 54 of the firm's more than 90 hospitals. Her
responsibilities
at LocumTenens.com include overseeing all company relocations and
construction.
