Job Description

Nursing homes in the Chicago, Illinois area need a psychiatrist like you. The facilities focus on providing 1/2 hour psychotherapy sessions for groups of 12-15 people in a nursing home setting. They usually do at least 2 groups per home. Each new resident admitted to the group undergoes a brief assessment as well. They will provide individuals to assist with gathering the residents into group, taking notes and facilitating group in conjunction with the doctor.

The state of Illinois is requiring anyone who runs these groups to have a copy of completion of an accredited psychiatric residency program. Prior to this, the state allowed any MD to run the group. Part of our requirements is that the physician must join on as a payee in our physicians Medicare and Medicaid group.
