Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist Needed in Maine

Info about position:

· Adult inpatient facility
· Voluntary and involuntary patients (they do not take highly violent patients).
· Once every 2-3 years they put a patient in restraints.
· Patient in seclusion 3-4 times/year.
· Psych emergency happens once/month or less. Average patient length of stay - 5 days.
· They do not take patients who need to be in a medical setting.
· Histories and Physicals are done by Hospitalists.
· Consultation to other parts of the hospital (primarily Med/Surg and ICU). 10-15 consults/month.
· You will not cover ED (outside, contracted group covers the ED). You may be asked to consult in ED.
· Work with one other doctor on site.
· ECT and waiver for suboxone a plus.
· Hours: 8A - 5P, 5 days/week.
· Call: 1 out of 9 on weekends (8:30 - 3:00). Week night call - 1 out of 9 5:00P - 8A. You do not have to go in on call to admit patients.
