Psychiatrist Needed in December in Oregon

Job Description

A locum psychiatrist is needed to provide coverage starting mid-December in Oregon. There is an adult and a geriatric unit. The acute geriatric unit has a max of 29 patients, all male (current census-26). The patient population comprises of chronically mentally ill, dementia with behavioral disturbance, forensic commitments, sex offenders and traumatic brain injury patients. Average admissions could range from 1-3/per month however you may get transfers from other geriatric units if the patient behaviors are not manageable or there is sexually inappropriate behavior. H&P’s done by doctor, but the med team does the physicals. Notes are handwritten. Credentialing takes 4-8 weeks.
