LocumTenens.com Proves That “Free” Can be Effective
Physician Recruiters Rank Free Job Board 5th for Effectiveness in StaffMD Survey

Alpharetta , Ga. , September 13, 2006—Ranking well in your own user survey is reassuring, but ranking high in a competitor’s survey is something to brag about. Physician recruiting firm LocumTenens.com recently earned bragging rights on its free physician job board in the fourth annual “Physician Recruiting Resources Survey” sponsored by StaffMD. A provider of internet-based employment tools for medical facilities, staffing firms and job seekers, StaffMD owns and manages competing job board PhysicianWork.com.
StaffMD asked the more than 400 respondents to this year’s on-line survey of physician recruiters across the country to list the internet-based resources they currently use. Respondents then were asked which ones are consistently effective recruiting tools. StaffMD calculated an “effectiveness rating” based on the number of users of each resource who reported it to be a consistently effective physician recruiting tool.

While LocumTenens.com allows employers to post physician jobs in any specialty at no charge on its CRNA, locum tenens and permanent physician job boards, the other four sites charge fees for job postings, as do most of the other physician or healthcare job boards that made the StaffMD list.
“In the beginning it seemed radical to invest in a job board where even our competitors could post jobs for free, but we now believe it’s a ‘win’ for all organizations who participate,” LocumTenens.com Senior Vice President Pamela McKemie said. “We know our agency makes about 40 percent of its placements through our job boards, so we have to think it works well for others, too.”
