If you could change one thing about medicine, what would it be?
"Managed Care/Insurance Limitations; too often external decisions are made
which conflict with the patient's best interest. Additionally, justifying
recommendations/plans/directives for a specific course of treatment for a
patient is extremely time-consuming and frustrating. I find it obstructs
excellence in patient care."
"I would spent more time with patients and review medical records more
completely."
"Create a more patient-focused care and rationale for reimbursement (perhaps
through a 'mutual' network that values a healthy community."
"I like the locum tenens way of practice because of the freedom it offers.
Thus, at this time I do not see the need for any changes in the way I practice
medicine."
"Bureaucracy is crippling the practice of medicine. Worst of all is the
attempt by organized insurance industry to deprecate the physician to "healthcare
practitioner..."
