Nurse Practitioner

Job description

Duties: ● Perform physical exams (within established protocol). ● Diagnose and treat (within protocol guidelines). ● Order diagnostic tests. ● Prescribe or recommend medications and treatment (within protocol guidelines). ● Promote positive lifestyle habits to all patients through education and counseling. ● Perform minor procedures as necessary (within protocol guidelines) ● Complete documentation within 24 hours. ● Maintain patient’s privacy and confidentiality. ● Make follow up calls to check patients progress. ● Work closely with nurses to assure patient flow is efficient. ● Consult with colleagues as needed regarding patient symptoms to assure proper diagnosis and plan of treatment. ● Performs other duties as assigned
Required Procedures: Sensitive Examinations, Minor Procedures (I&D, Sutures, etc.)
EMR: Allscripts AEHR
Support Staff: Primary Care Providers, Triage nurse(s), 1 nurse per provider, CNA
Reason for Coverage: Provider Resignation
