This is a 249-bed acute care community hospital that has been serving the residents of eastern Connecticut for more than 100 years. The facility provides comprehensive medical and surgical services, including advanced diagnostic imaging, emergency medicine, cardiovascular care, cancer services, orthopedic surgery, and critical care, all supported by state-of-the-art clinical technology.

Physician Assistant - Critical Care

Job Details:

• Provide holistic, high-quality care to critically ill patients admitted to the critical care unit as a Physician Assistant
• Diagnose, treat, and manage both acute and chronic diseases in a critical care inpatient setting
• Perform procedures and order and interpret diagnostic tests for critically ill patients
• Communicate with patients and families regarding their conditions and care plans
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Critical Care Intensivists and a variety of consultants
• Conduct routine physical examinations and formulate medical, educational, and psychosocial treatment plans
• Develop plans for further evaluation of health needs, including referrals to specialists and other health team members
• Identify problems outside the scope of practice and refer appropriately to physicians
• Minimum 1+ years of advanced practice provider experience in a critical care setting required
• Neurocritical care experience highly preferred
• Must hold or be eligible for an unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License
• Full-time, inpatient schedule
