This health system is a well-established, reputable ASC verified Level III Trauma Facility serving the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The facility features a completely digital radiology department, an efficient and flexible OR with block time assignments, orthopaedic PAs, and a full surgical staff to support providers.

Physician - Orthopaedic Surgery
Job Details:
- Provide call coverage at a Level III Trauma Facility on a rotating basis for select dates
- Must hold active board certification with the ABOS - NBPAS board certification is not accepted
- Must maintain an active MI License, MI CDS, and MI DEA
- Onsite orientation required the day prior to the start of coverage
- 24-hour call shifts with ED consult-based coverage - surgeon comes in only when the Emergency Department requests a consult
- Typical cases include fractures, sports medicine, and general orthopaedic cases
- Skills in Total Joints (hip, knee, and other) as well as general orthopaedics are required
- Joint revision or repair required for shoulder, hip, and knee
- Arthroscopy required
- No spine cases required
- Sick or complicated patients are typically transferred to higher-level facilities
- General Surgeons manage the wound care clinic - no wound care responsibilities for this role
- Completely digital radiology department on site

- Facility lodging available if preferred
- Credentialing timeframe approximately 30 days
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
