Job description
TinkBird Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced, Board-Certified physician to serve as Chief Medical Officer (CMO) for a well-established Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving underserved communities in northeastern North Carolina. This executive leadership position offers the opportunity to provide strategic clinical leadership across the organization while maintaining an active primary care practice.

Active involvement in community health, behavioral health, and integrated care
Maintain an active primary care patient panel while serving in an executive leadership capacity
Leadership & Administrative Responsibilities
Provide strategic clinical leadership and direction for Clinical Services
Participate as an active member of the Executive Team and leadership committees
Develop strategic plans, departmental goals, provider objectives, and succession plans
Oversee the integration and coordination of clinical services
Lead the selection, development, training, supervision, and retention of medical staff
Orient and mentor new physicians and advanced practice providers
Conduct and oversee regular clinical provider meetings
Establish and maintain clinical policies, procedures, protocols, and standards
Develop and implement clinical programs designed to improve workflows, productivity, quality, and patient care
Collaborate with executive and clinical leadership on organizational planning and the health center's clinical strategy
Participate in development and presentation of the clinical activities budget, including staffing, equipment, and support needs
Develop clinical objectives and assist with implementation of the organization's health care plan
Represent the clinical staff's needs, concerns, and policy recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors
Participate in community activities and partnerships addressing community health needs
Provide leadership in organizational problem-solving and medical decision-making
Serve as the final medical authority on clinical issues when disputes arise
Clinical Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive primary care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
Assess patient conditions using clinical observation, medical records, patient/family interaction, and other relevant information
Diagnose and treat patients using appropriate medical knowledge, clinical judgment, and evidence-based practices
Follow up on patient needs and ensure timely, thorough care
Provide clinical coverage during periods of staffing need or provider absence
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support integrated, patient-centered care
Provide clinical leadership for population health, behavioral health, and integrated care initiatives
Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified physician
Active, unrestricted North Carolina medical license
Current DEA certification
Current BLS certification
Minimum 6 years of experience in a clinical, academic, or administrative capacity
Experience in a primary care setting serving pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
Clinical management and leadership experience
FQHC Experience preferred
