Cardiothoracic Surgeon Needed in Florida | 24hr Call | Competitive Rates

Start Date: 10/1/2026
- Initial Coverage: Full month of October through 11/1/2026
- Duration: Ongoing until a permanent provider is hired
- Future Coverage: May reduce to approximately 10–15 days per month
- Coverage Type: 24-hour cardiothoracic surgery call
- Schedule: Weekday and weekend coverage based on the monthly schedule
- Board Certified/Board Eligible: Yes

Position Responsibilities
The locums provider will support the hospital-based cardiothoracic surgery service, including:
- 24-hour cardiothoracic surgery call coverage
- Emergency call coverage
- Inpatient and Emergency Department consultations
- Operative coverage
- Evaluation and management of postoperative patients
- Inpatient consultations
- Collaboration with Trauma Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care/Intensivists, and Radiology as appropriate

Required Procedures
Provider must be able to perform adult cardiothoracic procedures, including:
- CABG
- Valve repair/replacement
- Emergency cardiac procedures
- Thoracic procedures
- Lung resections
- Management of thoracic trauma, as clinically indicated

Call Response Requirements
- Must remain available for emergent consultations and operative cases throughout the assigned 24-hour call period
- Phone response: Within 15 minutes
- On-site response: Must be able to arrive at the hospital within 30 minutes when required
