Job description
A well-established healthcare system in Oviedo, Florida is seeking Board-Certified Radiologists for a long-term locum tenens opportunity beginning October 1, 2026.
This is an onsite Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST position providing a combination of general diagnostic radiology and light interventional radiology. Physicians may also have the opportunity to assist with major and minor holiday coverage, based on availability.
The practice offers a broad general diagnostic radiology environment with high emergency department imaging utilization, significant CT and neurovascular imaging activity, and consistent inpatient and outpatient volume.
Imaging Mix:
X-Ray: Portable chest, 2-view chest, trauma extremities, pelvis, spine
CT: Head, abdomen/pelvis, CTA chest PE, CTA head/neck, trauma CT
Ultrasound: Venous duplex, gallbladder, renal, pelvic, OB/GYN
MRI: Brain, spine, shoulder, pelvis
Fluoroscopy: Esophagram, upper GI, small bowel follow-through
Nuclear Medicine: HIDA, lung perfusion, bone scan
Light IR: Paracentesis, thoracentesis, breast localization
Workload Overview:
High emergency department imaging utilization
Significant CT stroke and neurovascular imaging activity
Strong chest radiography volume
Routine inpatient and outpatient CT interpretation
Vascular, abdominal, renal, and OB ultrasound support
Limited but consistent image-guided procedural work
Minimal interventional radiology burden compared with larger regional facilities
Broad general diagnostic radiology environment
Approximately 45 RVUs per shift
Ideal Candidate:
Board-Certified General Diagnostic Radiologist
Comfortable with high-volume CT interpretation
Experienced with emergency department imaging workflows
Familiar with stroke CTA and acute neurological imaging
Confident performing basic image-guided procedures
Strong efficiency in plain film and body CT interpretation
Technology: RPCE Tech Stack and PowerScribe 4.0
Additional Details:
Long-term opportunity, up to 104 weeks
Credentialing timeline: approximately 120 days
No overnight call
Prior travel experience required/preferred
Floating may be required
