Urgent Locum Diagnostic Radiologist Needed in Dover (Light IR /Diagnostic)

Job description

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Licensing: IMLC Accepted – MUST HAVE Letter of Qualification (LOQ) in Hand

AYA Locums is seeking a Locum Procedural Radiologist to provide weekday coverage involving a balanced mix of diagnostic imaging and basic image-guided procedures. This role offers a steady daytime schedule with no night or weekend call. Ideal candidates will have strong general radiology skills and be comfortable performing routine interventional procedures.

Modalities:

General CT, MRI, and X-Ray
Basic IR procedures
Complete fluoroscopy coverage
Radiologist will read from a general worklist when not performing procedures or fluoro
Case Mix and Volume:

Includes inpatient, outpatient, and occasional STAT reads
Workflow follows an “old-to-new” order by section (to prevent cherry-picking)
Daily volume: 50–70 studies (targeting ~50% cross-sectional imaging when not performing procedures)
Radiologist is expected to read cases between procedures as able
Procedures:

Basic CT/Ultrasound-guided:
Abscess drainages, biopsies (lung, liver, kidney, thyroid FNA)
Chest tubes, lumbar punctures, myelograms
Paracentesis, thoracentesis
Nephrostomy tube placements and exchanges
Suprapubic catheter placements
PICC lines, ports, and dialysis catheter placements
All fluoroscopic exams
Approximately 12 procedures and 10 fluoro cases per week
Emphasis is on general diagnostic work with some procedural responsibilities
Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology
Active IMLC with Letter of Qualification (LOQ) in hand
Proficient in cross-sectional imaging, general diagnostic reads, and basic interventional procedures
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and within a team
