About the facility

This facility provides diagnostic pathology services across inpatient and outpatient settings and maintains established protocols for specimen processing and diagnostic workflow management. The pathology department is supported by a Pathologist Assistant and is structured to accommodate on-site locum tenens coverage on a day shift basis with night call. Coverage is sought on an ongoing basis beginning as soon as possible.

About the clinician's workday

The anatomic and clinical pathologist will provide diagnostic pathology coverage Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with night call required. Clinical responsibilities include surgical pathology sign-out with a focus on thyroid and breast specimen interpretation; autopsies are not required for this assignment. Frozen section analysis is required. Annual case volume is estimated at 8,000 cases, with a daily range of 10-20 cases. Board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology is required for all clinicians considered for this position.
