Locums Pathology Opportunity (AP/CP) - Full Time

Contract Length: Ongoing
Coverage Type: Full-time + Call

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm

Full-time call coverage (call backs average 1–2 per week, mostly Blood Bank issues)

Practice Details:

Hospital Size: 70 beds | Level IV Trauma

Support Staff:

2 full-time histotechs (gross biopsies & gallbladders, attend FNAs & bone marrows)

Lab system director and senior tech for each department

Special stains limited in-house; immunohistochemistry performed by LabCorp with online images available

Patient Population: Primarily adult; rare pediatric peripheral smear reviews; pediatric specimens mainly tonsils and appendix

Volume: Full-time coverage needed

Skills Required:

Comfortable with occasional frozen sections

Cytology: urines, bronchial washes/brushes, pleural & ascitic fluids

FNAs: performed by Radiology/Oncology; thyroid FNAs sent to LabCorp

Requirements:

Board Certification in Pathology – required

Active West Virginia medical license (willing to license, IMLC & temp license eligible)

DEA – required

BLS & ACLS – required

Minimum 1 year of experience

Credentialing: ~60 days
