Schedule Details
Exact schedule is TBD, but client is wanting providers who are willing to work 12, 14, & 16 hour shifts.

12hr (630a-7p), 13hr (630a-8p), 14hr (630a-9p), and 16hr (630a-11p) shifts

If a provider wants to work 5x8's or 4x10's then it would need to be a night shift or midday shift.

No Call required and no weekends.

They are open to part time providers and flexible on shifts, especially for local providers

Not required to do OB or cardiac, but everything else is on the table.

Duties and Responsibilities

95% Assessing patients preoperatively, formulating and implementing plan of care and evaluating outcomes of care for each patient. Clinical practice/clinical management includes but is not limited to the following:
Perioperative assessment upon admission to include biophysical, psychosocial, and anesthesia parameters

Develop an anesthetic care plan based upon assessment, lab work, and ECG

Collaborate with appropriate staff to implement the anesthetic care plan

Respond appropriately to any change in the patient’s condition

Implement CPR or ACLS

Notify MDA of changes in patient condition

Perform emergency intubation or airway management

Administer medications necessary for resuscitation

Manage and maintain the patient in an anesthetized state using appropriate techniques and accurate knowledge of pharmacologic agents

Manage, provide, and document a safe environment for patients

Operate all anesthesia-related equipment properly

Demonstrate knowledge of and implement care in emergency situations

Participate in quality assessment and improvement activities and staff meetings

Collaborate with MDA, surgeon, and other clinical disciplines in making decisions regarding each patient’s need for anesthesia care
5 % Professional/Education Development this includes but is not limited to the following: Attending AANA accredited CME meetings. Attending department weekly case management report.

I will add that our locum staff will primarily work at the Main Campus and OSU East which include a broad range of surgical and procedural service lines. Surgical service lines including neuro spine, neuro crani, general surgery, ENT, oral maxillofacial, urology, gynecology, trauma/critical care/burn, ortho trauma, ortho spine, oncology, vascular, kidney/pancreas transplant, colorectal, bariatric, eyes, and hands. Procedural service lines include endoscopy, interventional radiology, bronchoscopy, CT scan, radiation oncology, MRI, dental, and some low-acuity EP lab.
o Locum staff will NOT be required to do OB or open-heart cases
o Locum staff will not be required to take call or work weekends
o All OSU locations currently run a medically-directed anesthesia care team model with physician-to-CRNA ratios of 1:2 or 1:3.
