On-Call Requirements: Required (1 weeknight per month and 1 weekend per month)
Contract Limit Policy: Maximum 12 consecutive months on assignment, followed by a mandatory 6-month break before returning.
Position Overview
A prominent regional health system in the Boise, Idaho area is seeking a full-time Locum Tenens Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to cover two high-volume hospital campuses. The position involves managing a diverse case mix—including trauma—for patients ranging from adolescents to geriatrics (90%+ over age 12).
CRNAs perform spinal blocks (no regional anesthesia) within a dynamic multi-OR environment using EPIC EMR.
Clinical Scope & Operating Environment
Case Mix: Trauma, general surgery, outpatient procedures, cath lab, endoscopy, and radiology.
Procedures: Spinal blocks performed by CRNAs (No regional anesthesia).
Patient Demographic: Adolescent, Child, Adult, and Geriatric (90%+ aged 12+).
Facility Capacity: 17 Main ORs, 7 Day Surgery Suites, plus specialty procedure rooms.
EMR: EPIC.
Qualifications & Candidate Requirements
Education & Credentials
Certification: Active National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) [Required]
State Licensure: Active, unrestricted Idaho RN & APRN/CRNA License [Required] (ID License highly preferred at presentation)
Controlled Substances: Active Idaho DEA registration and Idaho Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) [Required]
Life Support: Active AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification [Required]
Vaccination Status: Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination [Required]
Availability & Experience
Full-Time Commitment: Must be available full-time without monthly travel breaks [Required]
Call Willingness: Must agree to cover required weeknight and weekend call rotations [Required]
Clinical Proficiency: Ability to perform independent pre-op evaluations and spinal blocks [Required]

Rate Caps & Travel Expense Policy
Pay & Call Rate Caps
Hourly / Orientation: Up to $280/hr
Overtime / Holiday / Holiday Overtime: Up to $300/hr
Nightly Call (Standard / Holiday): Up to $450/night
24-Hour Call (Standard / Holiday): Up to $1,000/call
Call Back (Standard / Holiday): Up to $375/hr
Permanent Conversion Fee: Up to $15,000
Travel & Lodging Allowances
Flights: Round-trip cap of $750 (inclusive of all taxes/fees)
Lodging: Hotel cap of $179/night (inclusive of taxes/fees); Preferred Hotel: Candlewood Suites Boise – Towne Square
Rental Car: Reimbursed up to $50/day (inclusive of taxes/fees; SUV/upgrades require pre-approval for weather)
Personal Mileage: Reimbursed at standard IRS rate (if personal vehicle is used instead of rental car)
- Schedule: 40 hours/week guaranteed (Flexible mix of 8-, 10-, and 12-hour day shifts)
