Southeast Virginia CRNA Opportunity – Level 1 Trauma + Community Sites – 1-Year Contract

Job description

A large health system in southeastern Virginia is seeking CRNA coverage across three sites, including a Level 1 Trauma Center and two community hospitals. This is a long-term locum opportunity ideal for CRNAs seeking high-volume, high-acuity work in a supervised care team model. Scheduling is highly flexible—CRNAs can work one shift per week, 1–2 weeks per month, or full-time. Call is required but minimal (1–2 shifts/month max), and some providers may not be assigned any call. Submissions are expected to move quickly, with interviews and offers typically occurring within 48 hours.

Location: Multiple sites in Norfolk/Virginia Beach area
Start Date: 2/2/2026 (ASAP start preferred – February/March starts encouraged)
Contract Length: 52 weeks (through end of 2026)
Schedule:
• 4x10s standard (also open to 8s and 12s)
• Flexible start times: typically around 8:00 AM
• Minimum: 1 shift/week OR 1–2 weeks/month
• Some weekend/overnight call (beeper call – max 1–2/month)
Practice Setting: Hospital-based; three locations (including Level 1 Trauma)
OR Setup: Supervised 1:4 care team model
Cases/Procedures:
• Large vascular, neuro, high-risk OB/GYN, ortho, general, thoracic
• No peds or hearts required for locums
• Procedures: CRNAs place their own epidurals, spinals, arterial lines
• No brachial plexus or other advanced regional blocks
Support Staff: 30+ Anesthesiologists, 70+ CRNAs
Hospital Size: ~700 beds
Licensure: VA license or compact preferred – Willing to license
Certifications Required: None specified
Experience Required: Level 1 trauma experience
EMR: Cerner
Vaccinations: COVID-19 vaccine not required (exemption form required)
Credentialing Timeframe:
• Standard: 90–120 days
• Emergency credentialing possible in 30–45 days
