This hospital maintains an organized operating room program with established perioperative workflows designed to support quality anesthesia care delivery across a varied surgical caseload. The facility operates under an autonomous CRNA practice model within a structured on-site clinical environment. Locum tenens CRNA coverage is sought beginning January 4 on an ongoing basis to address additional staffing needs within the Anesthesia Department.

Roller derby events with food available at a nearby college campus, as well as waterfront attractions and seasonal activities, provide additional options for clinicians during time away from clinical duties.

About the clinician's workday

Clinicians in this role will provide autonomous anesthesia services during day shifts within an inpatient operating room setting, working a mix of 8- and 10-hour shifts (3x8s and 2x10s) with an average of 44 hours per week and a 40-hour weekly guarantee. The surgical case mix includes General Surgery, Orthopedic, Podiatry, OB/GYN, Neuro (spines - no heads), Urology, Dental with nasal intubation, and GI procedures; cardiac cases are not included. One call shift per week is required, along with every fifth weekend; the clinician serves as primary call for the OR and backup for OB call, and is first out post-call. Board certification, an active DEA, and prescriptive authority on the CRNA license are required; proficiency in TAP Blocks, PECS Blocks, and Rectus Abdominus Blocks, as well as line placement, is preferred for all clinicians considered for this role.
