Anesthesiologist Needed in the Bay Area Region of Northern California
Start Date: April 2026
Contract Length: 26+ weeks (ongoing)
Schedule

Day shift; providers typically work 4–5 days/week
Shifts generally 8 hours; may extend up to 10 hours depending on case load
No call
Minimum 40 hours/week expected

Practice Details

Hospital-based anesthesia float pool
Providers float between multiple affiliated inpatient and ambulatory sites
Mix of high‑acuity inpatient OR coverage and outpatient/ASC coverage
Will work solo the majority of the time; occasional CRNA collaboration
Charting: Epic

Clinical Scope
Case types include:

General surgery
High‑acuity inpatient cases (ASA 3+)
Occasional regional anesthesia (preferred but not required)
No cardiac, liver transplant, or neurosurgery
Patient population: adults and adolescents 13+

Requirements

Physician – Anesthesiology
Board Certified; truly BE considered if fellowship‑trained
Active California license required (no licensing offered)
DEA with Schedule 2/2N required
BLS and ACLS (AHA only)
Minimum 2 years anesthesiology experience
Recent experience at tertiary‑care centers
Must have recent experience working solo
Experience with both inpatient and outpatient surgical environments

Credentialing

Estimated timeframe: 60–90 days
Full hospital onboarding and cross‑privileging across system sites required

Location
Bay Area region of Northern California — hospital and ASC settings across multiple campuses in an adjacent metropolitan area.
