🏥 Anesthesiologist (Locum Tenens)
📍 Location: Colorado
⏰ Schedule:
* **Weekend Day Shift:** Friday–Monday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (10-hour shifts)
* **Weekend Night Shift:** Friday–Monday | 5:00 PM – 7:00 AM (14-hour in-house shifts)
* Providers must work all four consecutive scheduled days or nights.
* Option to add one additional day shift on Tuesday or Thursday.
🗓️ Assignment Duration:
Late October 2026 – July 2027
### ⚡ THE HIGHLIGHTS:
• Seeking 4–5 Board Certified Anesthesiologists for weekend coverage.
• Adult-focused practice consisting of approximately 80% adult cases and 20% trauma.
• Approximately 60 surgical cases daily:
* 50% General Surgery
* 10% Neurosurgery
* 20% Complex Vascular
* 20% Complex Orthopedic
• Join an established anesthesia team consisting of:
* 55 Anesthesiologists
* 30 CRNAs/Anesthesia Assistants
• Medical direction of CRNAs/AAs approximately 40% of the time (up to 3 providers simultaneously).
• Practice in a Level I Trauma Center with 22 Operating Rooms.
• Epic EMR utilized throughout the hospital and surgical center.
### 🛑 SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS (Strict Compliance):
• Board Certified in Anesthesiology (Board Eligible candidates will not be considered).
• Active Colorado Medical License or Active IMLC Letter of Qualification highly preferred.
• Minimum two years of Level I Trauma experience outside of residency.
• Must be available to cover at least two weekends per month.
• Must specify availability for Day shifts, Night shifts, or Both.
• Clean malpractice and background history highly preferred.
• Must be proficient in Central Line placement.
• Must be comfortable providing Pediatric anesthesia.
• Must be able to perform open vascular procedures.
• Thoracic and Open Heart experience not required.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• NPDB Self-Query Report completed within the last 30 days required.
• Previous locum tenens experience required (no first-time locums).
### 📋 CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide anesthesia for adult, trauma, obstetric, neurosurgical, orthopedic, vascular, and general surgical procedures.
• Perform:
* General Anesthesia
* Regional Anesthesia
* Spinal Anesthesia
* Epidural Anesthesia
* Acute Pain Management
* Minor Nerve Blocks
* IV Regional Anesthesia
• Perform procedural skills including:
* Central Line Placement
* Arterial Line Placement
* Ultrasound-Guided Regional Blocks
• Manage:
* Ventilation
* Acute volume and blood pressure management
• Provide medical direction to CRNAs and Anesthesia Assistants when assigned.

### 👥 PATIENT POPULATION:
• Primarily Adults
• Trauma Patients
### ☎️ CALL COVERAGE:
• **No Call Required**
• No Callback
• In-house scheduled coverage only.
### ✈️ TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT:
• Roundtrip airfare reimbursed up to $850.
• Lodging reimbursed up to $180 per night (before taxes and fees).
• Economy rental car reimbursed.
• Mileage reimbursed at current IRS standard rate.
### 🏅 CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS:
• Board Certified in Anesthesiology
• Colorado Medical License (or Active IMLC LOQ)
• BLS
• ACLS
