Position Overview
Seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist (MD/DO) for a locum tenens opportunity in the Naples, Florida metro area. Providers must be flexible with shifts and call, as coverage needs vary week to week. This is a multi-hospital assignment requiring cross-credentialing.
Note: This is not a traditional block schedule or long-term fixed assignment. Needs are sporadic and vary monthly.
Schedule & Coverage Requirements
Providers must be willing to work all of the following:
12-hour day shifts plus 12-hour call (same dates)
8-hour day shifts
24-hour weekend call
Call frequency varies weekly (not 7-on / 7-off)
Day off after first call shift: Yes
Anticipated workload: 10–20 shifts per month
Practice Details
Anesthesia Model: Supervision and own cases
Call Model: No in-house call requirement
Orientation: 3–5 days provided, based on staffing availability
Charting System: Cerner (AneScan)
Case Mix
Cardiac (CABG, valves, thoracic – covered by cardiac-trained anesthesiologists)
Cath Lab (cardioversions, TEEs, pacemakers, AICDs, Watchman, ablations)
Orthopedics
Neuro
General Surgery
GI
Urology
Vascular
Additional Notes
No trauma, OB, or pediatrics
Stroke call coverage required (Comprehensive Stroke Center)
Ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia encouraged
TAP or ESP blocks preferred for postoperative pain control
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $330/hour
Travel & Lodging: Covered per guidelines
Lodging reimbursed up to $150/night
Requirements
Board Certified Anesthesiologist (MD/DO)
Active Florida medical license required
Ability to cross-credential at multiple hospitals
Willingness to take call and work variable schedules
Must live more than 75 miles from the facility locations
