Position Details:

Patient Population: Adult surgical patients

Setting: Hospital-based anesthesia practice

Practice Type: Independent MD anesthesia practice

Geographic Setting: Council Bluffs – A suburban city located adjacent to Omaha, offering a low cost of living and access to a major metropolitan area.

Responsibilities:

Provide independent anesthesia coverage for weekend call
Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations
Administer anesthesia across multiple surgical specialties
Manage post-anesthesia recovery and acute perioperative issues

Required Procedures:

Orthopedic cases
Labor and Delivery
Spine procedures
GI procedures
Gynecology
Urology
Cath Lab
Interventional Radiology
Bariatric surgery
Minimal vascular cases

EMR System: Epic

Support Staff: CRNAs, anesthesia techs, and anesthesia providers

Days Per Month: Weekly weekend coverage

On-Call/Weekends: Yes – Friday 5:00 PM to Monday 7:00 AM

Requirements:
Board Certified in Anesthesiology
Completion of Anesthesiology Residency
Active Iowa license preferred (IMLC or willing to obtain accepted)
BLS and DEA
NPDB Self-Query dated within 30 days
Clean malpractice history preferred

• Ongoing weekend-only coverage with consistent schedule
• Broad case mix with independent practice model
• Credentialing completed within approximately 60 days
