POSITION OVERVIEW
A hospital-based anesthesiology team is seeking a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist to provide locum coverage following a physician retirement. This role is ideal for an experienced anesthesiologist who thrives in a structured anesthesia care model with CRNA support and enjoys a mix of operating room and on-call responsibilities.
The incoming physician will practice under a medical direction model (no more than 1:4 CRNA oversight) and be personally responsible for regional anesthesia, labor & delivery coverage, and all cardiac cases. The patient population spans pediatric to elderly, with emphasis on orthopedic and general surgical procedures.
SCHEDULE & CALL STRUCTURE
- Coverage: One week (7 consecutive days) per month
- Initial Shifts: 5–10 hour day shifts, with additional call coverage after orientation
- Call Types:
Restricted (C1) In-House Call: Weekdays 16 hours, weekends 24 hours
Unrestricted (C2) Home Call: Primarily for emergent cardiac cases
Callback: Average within 24 hours; in-house Call 1 is typical; Call 2 is rare
- Weekend Requirements: Included in call coverage
SCOPE OF PRACTICE / PROCEDURES
The anesthesiologist will:
- Provide anesthesia for orthopedic, cardiac, and general surgical procedures
- Administer regional anesthesia, including:
. Adductor block
. Interscalene block
. Popliteal block
. Supraclavicular block
. Provide labor and delivery anesthesia
- Supervise and collaborate with CRNAs and OR staff for comprehensive patient care
CREDENTIALING & REQUIREMENTS
Mandatory:
- Board Certified in Anesthesiology
- ND Medical License or IMLC
- Clean malpractice history
- Availability at time of name clearance
- BLS, PALS, ACLS certifications
- Self-Query NPDB report within 30 days of presentation
Credentialing Notes:
- CV must be chronological (starting with medical school), with no gaps >60 days without explanation
- Three professional references required
- Facility credentialing is expected within 90 days of complete application

. Lodging and air travel arranged according to contract policy
