We are seeking a Locum Tenens Physician specializing in Anesthesiology for a hospital-based assignment beginning June 2, 2026. This is an ongoing opportunity requiring strong proficiency in a broad range of anesthesiology techniques, including regional anesthesia and obstetric anesthesia. The role involves night shift coverage with variable daily assignments across multiple surgical specialties in a high-volume acute care setting.

About the Facility:
This is an acute care hospital with approximately 135 beds providing comprehensive surgical and procedural services. The anesthesiology team supports a diverse case mix including orthopedic surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, general surgery, gastroenterology, pediatrics, plastics, urology, vascular, and robotic procedures.
Providers work within a care team model with a 1:3 CRNA-to-physician ratio, delivering patient-centered anesthesia care across all ages. The facility uses Epic EMR and maintains a high procedural volume, particularly in orthopedics and OB services requiring frequent regional anesthesia.

Compensation:
‣ Pay Rate: $420/Hr.

Job Responsibilities:
‣ Provide anesthesiology services across a wide range of surgical specialties
‣ Deliver anesthesia care for patients of all ages
‣ Perform and manage OB anesthesia services, including labor and C-sections
‣ Conduct regional anesthesia techniques, including nerve blocks (high orthopedic volume)
‣ Perform spinal anesthesia, MAC (Monitored Anesthesia Care), and ultrasound-guided procedures
‣ Supervise CRNAs in a 1:3 care team model
‣ Manage anesthesia care during night shift assignments with variable case assignments
‣ Collaborate with surgical teams across multiple specialties
‣ Ensure patient safety and high-quality perioperative care across all assigned cases

Qualifications:
‣ Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology
‣ Minimum of 2 years of experience preferred
‣ Eligible for Pennsylvania medical licensure or participation in the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (IMLC) with Letter of Qualification
‣ Certifications required: ACLS and PALS
‣ Clean credentialing file preferred (expedited credentialing/temporary privileges may be available)
‣ Credentialing timeframe: approximately 90 days
‣ DEA and CSR: not required

Working Hours:
‣ Night shift coverage required
‣ Schedule: 4 shifts per block, typically
‣ Shift length: 16 hours (3:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
‣ Occasional assignment variation based on daily departmental needs (including daytime OR coverage such as 0700–1700 when assigned)
‣ Coverage expectation: approximately 1-4 weeks per month
‣ No formal call structure, but full in-house overnight coverage is required
‣ Start date: June 2, 2026
‣ Contract length: Ongoing

‣ Strong proficiency in regional anesthesia (nerve blocks)
‣ OB anesthesia expertise (labor epidurals, C-sections)
‣ Spinal anesthesia techniques
‣ MAC anesthesia management
‣ Ultrasound-guided regional techniques
‣ Ability to manage diverse surgical case mix independently and within a team model
‣ Experience across high-acuity, multi-specialty hospital environments
‣ Comfortable working night shifts in a high-volume setting
‣ Ability to supervise CRNA-managed rooms efficiently within a 1:3 ratio structure
