Anesthesiologist FT – Locum Tenens – Pittsburgh Metro Area, PA

Job description

Anesthesiologists are needed for ongoing coverage in the Pittsburgh metro area. Providers will primarily supervise CRNAs, with hands-on anesthesia care as needed. The position includes weekday shifts, weeknight call, and 24-hour weekend call.

JOB DETAILS

Location: Pittsburgh Metro Area, PA

Start: December 28, 2026

Duration: Ongoing

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:30 PM or 5:30 PM

Coverage: Full-time or part-time

EMR: Epic

Practice Model: Two physicians onsite

CLINICAL SCOPE

General anesthesia

Regional anesthesia

Orthopedic cases and basic orthopedic blocks

Adult and healthy pediatric patients

No OB services

Approximately 16–20 cases per day, excluding add-ons

CALL REQUIREMENTS

Weeknight call: 5:30 PM–7:00 AM

Weekend call: 24-hour coverage Saturday and Sunday

Weeknight call is rarely needed; weekend volume is typically light

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

MD or DO

Board-certified or board-eligible in Anesthesiology

Pennsylvania license, or willingness to obtain one

At least one year of experience

ACLS certification

Comfortable with pediatric and regional anesthesia

Must be willing to take weeknight and 24-hour weekend call

CREDENTIALING & TRAVEL

Approximately 90-day credentialing timeframe

Full privileges required

NPDB self-query required at presentation

Travel expenses covered, including airfare, lodging, mileage, parking, rental car, fuel, and ground transportation
