Job description

A hospital in the Houston, Texas metro area is seeking Anesthesiologists (MD/DO) for ongoing locum coverage beginning spring 2026. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling with a mix of day shifts, call coverage, and OB opportunities in a collaborative anesthesia team.

Compensation
$335/hour regular

Assignment Overview
Start: March 2026
Commitment: Minimum 3 months
Flexible Scheduling: 1–4 weeks per month
Ongoing coverage needed throughout 2026
Open shifts currently available through May, with additional scheduling beginning June and beyond.

Schedule
Day Shift
6:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Call Shift
6:30 AM – 7:00 AM (next day)
After 7:00 PM, providers are backup from home

Weekend Call
24-hour first call and backup call
From home if no cases

Practice Setting
Supervision model
Physicians perform both their own cases and supervision
MDs are solo while on call

EMR: Meditech with electronic forms on iPad

General Surgery
Orthopedics
Gynecology
Neuro (including spine and cranial cases)
Endoscopy
OB
Urology
Pediatrics:

Rare cases
Typically healthy pediatric patients (18 months and older)
Patient population: 18 months – 80+ years

Requirements
MD/DO Anesthesiologist
Active Texas license required
BLS, ACLS, PALS
Must be comfortable with neuro spine and cranial cases

Credentialing
Temporary privileges possible in approximately 5 weeks for providers with a clean file
Standard credentialing timeline: 60–90 days
