Locum Anesthesiologist - Norfolk, VA - Days

Job description

We are seeking a skilled Anesthesiologist to provide locum services in Norfolk, Virginia.
This is an excellent opportunity for an anesthesiologist looking for weekday coverage with call responsibilities in a hospital-based setting. Coverage begins early January 2026 and extends through June 2026.

🏥 Job Details:
Case Types: General, pediatrics (preferred), obstetrics, neurosurgical (spine), vascular, orthopedic, endoscopy, cataracts

Special Procedures: Spinal, epidural, regional anesthesia; ventilation management; insertion of central and arterial lines

Excluded Cases: Cardiac (open heart), thoracic, pain management procedures, PA catheter placement

Setting: Acute care hospital, Level I trauma center

Schedule: Day shifts (8, 10, or 12 hours depending on team needs); weekday coverage with required weeknight and/or weekend call

Support: Physicians perform their own cases (no CRNA supervision)

EMR System: Epic

Beds: 525-bed tertiary care facility

✅ Requirements:
Board Certification preferred (will consider board-eligible)

Active Virginia medical license required (not open to licensing)

DEA required

COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Minimum experience: 2 years preferred

Teaching hospital and trauma experience beneficial

📋 Credentialing:
Estimated timeframe: ~90 days
